This week I’m going to focus on two quotes by a real-life person, whom I will name up front, whose moment of greatness came from portraying another real-life person in a movie that won the award for Best Picture at the 2014 Oscars.
Lupita Nyong’o from Kenya played a slave called Patsey in 12 Years A Slave. She did an inspirational job and, in recognition of her work, received the Oscar for Best Actress in a Supporting Role.
Rising to the podium to receive her award, Lupita proved she was made of sheer class. She said,

She went on to thank her collaborators and family, before finishing off with the following:
No matter where you’re from, your dreams are valid.
Words to go by!
