Recorded live at the Monterey Pop Festival on 18th June 1967. The performance that launched her into the spotlight. Without Janis knowing, her band Big Brother and the Holding Company had refused for their set to be recorded for petty legal reasons. Furious, she convinced them to come back on stage the next day for just one song and this is it in all it’s glory. Shortly afterwards she left the band to go solo. The rest is history.
