Angry Birds Star Wars: Obi-Wan Kenobi, Darth Vader, And How It All Began

“A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away… a group of desperate rebel birds faced off against a galactic menace: the Empire’s evil Pigtroopers!”

Angry Birds Star Wars is the fifth installment in the popular video game by Rovio Entertainment. The original Angry Birds edition was first launched in December 2009, followed by Angry Birds Seasons (October 2010), Angry Birds Rio (March 2011), and Angry Birds Space (March 2012).

In the second part of our tribute to the franchise, we met Chuck Ham Solo (Han Solo), Terebacca (Chewbacca), Droid C-3PO, and Space Egg R2-D2. Now let’s meet the Jedi and his nemesis.

First we have Black Bird Obi-Wan Kenobi, who (according to the Angry Birds Star Wars wiki on wikia) is ‘no longer able to explode.’ The good news is that he has been ‘given the power of the “Force”, which allows him to use telekinesis to launch blocks and debris at enemies.’

Across him, always up to no good, is the machine-pig-hybrid Darth “Lard” Vader. This former Jedi is ‘a master at using the Dark Side of the Force,’ serving his evil emperor’s plans with malicious intent.

Strange video, this one. It gives crossing swords a whole new meaning. Malfunctioning and erratic sabers are paid tribute to as well. Strange how our angry birds have suddenly been equipped with phallic paraphernalia, inheriting the complications that go with them.

But enough with the cheeky wordplay. Let us end this special feature with a short video that reveals how our cute friends got into this mess in the first place. Time to see what makes them so angry.

Take that, Evil Pigs.
