PS – Scientists have disputed the findings since they were first made. And there may be a point to their claims. But the real point is the process of research and investigation. The ability to formulate a theory based on rational thinking, data, extrapolation and verification, plus the ability to dispute the claims and offer counter-proposals, this is what makes the story interesting, and science a hell of a tool in humankind’s journey into the future, or, in this case, past.
