So here we are, out of the frying pan and into the fire. From Angela Merkel opening the gates without a strategy, program, or plan on how to manage the abrupt influx of millions of people — a policy applied as an ideological reflex, which in due course backfired monumentally — to Donald Trump issuing a blanket ban on the citizens of seven countries, no exceptions, including Green Card holders and vetted residents from said countries.
From one stupid extreme to the other.
From one stupendous crapfest to the next, or, as another popular saying goes, out of the shit pipe and into the sewer.
It’s ok, don’t dial the apocalypse line just yet. The system is resilient and will fight back, repelling Trump’s outrageous orders, neutralizing their effect in due course.
The bad news is (something like fake news, only real, based on facts) that the bad blood is mounting. The more time spent in this heated and irrational state of affairs, the higher the chances of things spiraling into chaos. The term is destabilization, and the longer it persists the worse it gets. There is such a thing as a point of no return. Cross it and we enter a situation we’d be loathe to engage i.e. pre-War reality all over again.
Let’s hope that the Trump regime cracks before civilization does. The pressure must be kept up until it does, crack, right down the middle and from end to end, its lunatic approach to politics and business shattered, readied for the trash can.
Let’s also hope that the direct result of an impending Trump collapse is not the resurgence of political correctness, nor the consolidation of unsustainable economics, leviathan government, indulgent do-goodery and noblesse so fake, so hypocritical, it doubles down on things as they were. Business as usual is what got us in this mess in the first place . . .
